Just received my elite mini and wanted to get your thoughts on mounting it to plywood I have attached to my basement wall. So I would end up with the bottom of the unit against the plywood and use maybe 2 straps to go around the unit to hold it securely. Should I have a problem with the unit operating mounted this way? All my other devices are mounted this way. Thanks!!

There is no problem mounting it vertically or horizontally. You might want to consider a DVR lock box which can be mounted to the wall and the DVR goes inside.
